Parents / Carers

Parents/carers regularly feedback that BOP supports the child and their whole family. We work in partnership with families providing help, advice or just someone to listen. We organise regular workshops from visiting professionals to offer advice in areas such as Behaviour Management, Continence and Sleep.

To help parents/carers stay in touch with their child’s learning and development every child at BOP has an Targeted Outcomes Plan (TOP) where specific targets are set and reviewed at 6 weekly intervals. These meetings are held with parents/carers and any other relevant professionals. In addition, Special Educational Needs (SEN) Review Team Meetings have been introduced from September 2017.

Parents/carers are able to stay on site while their child is in a session in the Family Room. This provides an opportunity to meet other families.

We also try to hold regular trips away from BOP that we invite both children and their families to attend. This gives families the opportunity to enjoy a day out with the added support of trained staff. Recent trips have included Westonbirt Arboretum, Weston Super-Mare and the pantomime.

If you have any questions or concerns there is always someone at BOP to talk to, and although we may not be able to answer your question immediately we will always know who can help.

If you feel your child would benefit from a place at BOP please ask your Health Visitor or another Health Professional to make a referral. Alternatively you can contact us and we will be able to discuss your options.
